Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Advocacy Day 2015

2015 June 22 - 23

Created by Lori 8 years ago
Our Beloved Benjamin courageously lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer on October 4, 2000. The more that I read about this devastating cancer, I found myself becoming an Advocate and Volunteer for Pancreatic Cancer Action Network for Benjamin and countless others who are giving it everything they have to fight this beast and the ones whom we lost. I have been an Advocate for 5 years and recently became a volunteer 2 years ago. Since becoming involved in Pancreatic Cancer Action Awareness, I have lost many friends (some that I have never met, but made a deep connection on Facebook) and some that I attended school with and some that are parents or spouses of friends.
On June 22nd and 23rd of 2015, I was honored to have been able to attend Pancreatic Cancer Action Network Advocacy Day in Washington, DC in memory of Benjamin all because Pancreatic Cancer Action Network chose me for a Travel Scholarship for which I will forever be extremely grateful.
This horrible beast must be stopped!!! It takes victims by surprise because there are basically no symptoms intill most are diagnosed with Stage 4.
I am always told "what about Breast Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Lung Cancer and Brain Cancer, etc....well, those cancers are just as important, but, there is a cure and funding is readily available, but, with Pancreatic Cancer, there is no cure available at this time. By 2020 Pancreatic Cancer WILL BE the leading cause of death from any cancer within the deadliest cancers.
I am going to fight within everything in me to continue my fight in helping find a cure and and keep educating everyone about Pancreatic Cancer.
We must continue to fight for our loved ones who are in the fight of their lives and those who gave it everything that they had and lost their battle.
I "Wage Hope" for Benjamin and everyone fighting, and those who courageously fought and lost their battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
May God Bless each and everyone fighting and bless those who we have lost.
This cancer must be stopped!
